An award of the national repute, from Bengladesh in the year 2018. Apart from making tele-films and tele-programmes, he has also authored and compiled several articles and titles on music, theatre, film as well a jatra for the publications of Sahitya Akademi, Oxford University Press, Ananda Publishers, Asi-atic Society, and man others of the sam repute. Gevajit was awarded the Juning Fellowship (1992-1994), the Se-nior Fellowship (1996-1998) and the Tagore National Re-searcher Fellowship (2011-2012) by the Ministry of Cul-ture, Government of India.

He is also the founder of the Academy Theatre, an in-stitution of national repute, founded in 1984 and the cura-tor of the Academy Theatre Archive of colonial and post-colonial culture of India.
